Here we have an early stage 5" GWR 15xx to the ever popular and powerful 'Speedy' design. The boiler is solidly made and looks good, except for the obvious attack that has been made at some point in the past on the front tubeplate steam bush. It needs drilling out and a fresh one dropping in. Not a massive job, and certainly apart from that it looks tidy and ready to plug up and test.
There is the rolling chassis too as you can see, the cylinder's the coupling rods and an engineer's laser cab kit. An early stage build but a clean and neatly machined start with a solidly made and viable boiler,.... which of course is where the bulk of the value lies.
